Starks Suffers Season Ending Injury

Buffalo’s all-time leading rusher James Starks‘ career is over for the Bulls. The senior Doak Walker candidate RB suffered a labral tear in his shoulder that will require season ending surgery. This is not only disheartening for Buffalo fans but for fans of college football alike. Starks was a large contributor to Buffalo’s magical run last season in which they won the Mid Atlantic Conference for the first time, and played in their first ever bowl game.

Starks leaves behind a lasting legacy at Buffalo where he shattered many records. He rushed for a school best 3,140 career yards, 34 rushing TDs, and scored a Buffalo best 222 points. One can only hope that Starks will recover fully from this injury and make it back in enough time to put his name in for the 2010 NFL draft.

Not very often do you hear about guys like him coming back to school for their senior year, it’s unfortunate that he has to end his career this way. We wish Starks all the best and will be following him to see how he progresses.
