So you think you can dance?

The Beef O’Brady Bowl featuring Louisville and Southern Mississippi just got a little more interesting. Yesterday, during the informal Beach Bash dance competition at the Tradewinds Island Resort, a huge brawl almost ensued between the two teams. During a friendly poolside dance-off, a Louisville player, who was presumably a better break dancer than any of the Golden Eagles, started poking fun at Southern Mississippi, their horrible dancing, and the fact that they play in the inferior Conference USA. Of...

Troy’s Will Goggans wins best beard award

If you happened to watch the trifecta of boring college football bowl games yesterday, thankfully there was one highlight that made it all worth it. During the New Orleans bowl, Troy put on a 48-21 clinic over Ohio scoring on their first 5 possessions. It wasn’t until late in the game that Troy was forced to punt. Troy provided a Christmas treat for all the remaining fans by calling in the punting unit. Troy punter Will Goggans showed-off his...

Boise State Bronco bucked after sexual hazing charge

Boise State freshman receiver Anthony Clarke is one of three college football players who have been charged with various misdemeanors and felony counts of committing a sexual crime, battery, and false imprisonment for incidents that took place last year while students at Blackfoot High School. Clarke, a standout high school athlete who moved on to the collegiate level, and his teammates apparently took high school hazing to new limits and criminal charges were finally filed. FedEx founder’s son Cannon Smith arrested

Some disturbing news is coming out of the University of Memphis. Redshirt sophomore and starting quarterback, not to mention the son of the FedEx founder, Cannon Smith was arrested on charges of public intoxication and disorderly conduct earlier today. After completing his final exams, Smith decided to do what every college student does, drink to oblivion. After his all night bender, Smith did the responsible thing and decided to take a cab home because he was too drunk to...

A not so Kodak moment for Arkansas

A picture is worth a thousand words, and in Arkansas’ case they better start talking before the NCAA gets involved. Apparently, the above snap-shot of 10 football recruits, which on its face looks harmless, is a potential NCAA recruiting violation. Per the NCAA rules, a program cannot create a “false game day environment.” Now the question remains, is handing out jerseys and placing name plates on lockers considered a game day environment? The NCAA is obviously the judge and...

BYU makes commitment to Fight Hunger (bowl)

With BYU turning to independent status next season, which makes no sense, the university just confirmed its lack of commitment to football, or at least fielding a competitive football team. The school announced its post-season tie in bowl will be the Fight Hunger Bowl come 2013. That’s right, I had to look it up myself. Apparently the Fight Hunger Bowl committee dropped the WAC and secured BYU. If by some small miracle BYU ever gets a BCS bid, the...

Former Nittany Lion Al Golden roars into Miami

Christmas came early for the Miami Hurricanes with the hire of Temple’s Al Golden to replace ousted Randy Shannon. Miami is aggressively working to finalize the deal as Golden was highly sought after in this already turbulent coaching carousel. Rumors were abound that Golden was considered for Pitt or an eventual replacement to Penn State’s Joe Paterno so Miami acted quickly to nab Golden. As a head coach, Golden single handedly turned around an underachieving and embarrassing Temple program. The...

Metrodome roof collapse caught on tape

This looks like it was straight out of a Michael Bay movie. Check out the Metrodome collapse after a horrific blizzard dumped over 17 inches of snow on Minneapolis. The damage was so extensive, that today’s Giants-Vikings game was cancelled and moved to Detroit’s Ford Field.
