Big Ten to Consider 12th Game in December

It’s time for the Big 10 to change tradition. It used to be that no Big 10 team played after the Ohio State-Michigan game just before Thanksgiving. However, this concept has been slowly changing as more teams are breaking tradition. Penn State lands its 14th 2010 recruit in top TE Kevin Haplea from North Hunterdon High in Annandale, New Jersey. Haplea (6’4, 230 lbs.) also considered Florida State, West Virginia, Pittsburgh, and North Carolina. Texas A&M’s Holland to miss another Season

Texas A&M  will be down a WR this season.  WR Roger Holland (Jr. 5’10, 175 lbs.), from Houston, Texas, will miss his second straight season due to the lingering effects of multiple concussions he suffered during his college career. Texas A&M coach Mike Sherman announced today that “we’re not going to play with him.”  “We’re going to sit him down and see how he does a year from now.” His status will be reevaluated in 2010.

The NCAA sues Delaware

The NCAA, along with the four pro sports leagues, sued the state of Delaware in the U.S. District Court for the District of Delaware (09-cv-00538) this past Friday to prevent Delaware from implementing sports betting. Governor Jack Markell and the Director of the Delaware State Lottery Office, Wayen Lemons, were the named defendants in the suit. Northwestern LB Coach Bates injured in Fight

Randy Bates, Northwestern’s linebackers coach, was recently hospitalized after suffering a bruised lip that required 4 stitches after trying to break-up a fight. Earlier last week, he saw two unfamiliar people on his property in the Evanston-Skokie area. He politely asked the two strangers to leave. In response, they turned on Bates causing him to sustain injuries. The incident occurred at approximately 10:20 pm. The Skokie Police Department are searching for two male suspects, one believed to be between 17-19.

Stanley Hunter (#17) pressuring Russell Wilson Clemson LB Stanley “Buster” Hunter (So., 5’11, 225 lbs) has decided to hang-up his helmet due to his on-going battle with epilepsy.
