Michigan clocks Ohio State

With Michigan entering spring practice this weekend with several talented players sidelined with injuries and a new head coach taking over a depleted program, Coach Brady Hoke is focused on bringing back the maize and blue swagger. Aside from considering the return of the helmet stickers, he is motivating his players in an unconventional manner by installing countdown clocks of the Ohio State and Michigan State games. Hoke made the coaching decision of installing two clocks inside Schembechler Hall...

Michigan Aims High

The Michigan Wolverines really wanted to play the Air Force Academy in 2012. So much so, AF athletic director, Hans Mueh stated that since mid-November of 2010, Michigan was incessantly contacting and pushing to schedule a one-game deal in 2012. What eventually made the decision easy for Air Force, outside the free national exposure from playing in the Big House and the Mountain West smoothing their shake-up, was Michigan agreed to pay the Falcons $1.1 million to play the...

Extra Extra: Get your RichRod apparel this weekend!

With the ousting of former Michigan head coach Rich Rodriguez, the ole ball coach wants to rid his closet of all maize and blue memories. Apparently, Rodriguez donated 12 Hefty sized bags of Wolverine apparel to a Detroit-area Salvation Army store which will sell and/or auction items in a Coach’s Closet tent sale this Saturday. The 12 bags consist of over 432 items of Michigan swagger ranging from medium to XL sizes to include hats, t-shirts, and jackets. So...

Maize and Blue spotted in Baton Rouge

Last time I checked the University of Michigan did not officially own or lease any twin engine Lear jets such as the one pictured above. However, this bad boy is owned by mega-booster and former president of the Michigan Alumni Association, Rich Rogel, who hails from Colorado, but happened to land his plane in the Baton Rouge Metro Airport twice in three days. Perhaps Rogel is leading the charge, or at least picking up the tab, to woo Les...

Penn State wigs out for Robinson and the Wolverines

Halloween is being celebrated a little earlier in State College, Pennsylvania. As Penn State is gearing up for the Michigan Wolverines, the coaching staff provided scout-team QB/WR Evan Lewis with some fake long dreads to help further mimic and simulate Michigan QB Denard Robinson. Some PSU players got a chuckle out of Lewis’s new hair-do, but after watching some videotape and Lewis in action, the defense is not laughing one bit at Robinson’s shiftiness and blazing speed. Robinson leads...

A QB Controversy in the Making?

QB Denard Robinson, who sprained his right throwing shoulder during a 38-28 loss to Iowa this Saturday, is expected to be healthy for the Wolverines when they face Penn State on October 30th. Coach Rich Rodriguez confirmed that there is no QB controversy and Robinson is still the starter and will play if healthy. For Michigan fans, this may not be a good thing with Michigan 0-2 in conference play. When the shifty Robinson went down early in the 3rd...

Tom Brady hates Michigan State

As evidenced last night during MNF, shag-a-licous Tom Brady hates Michigan State. The former Wolverine, who lead the Patriots to a dominating 41-14 rout over the Dolphins, did not want back-up Brian Hoyerto see any substantive playing time despite the Patriots sealing the victory midway through the 4th quarter late last night. Hoyer, one of Sparty’s QB career leaders in several offensive categories, was itching for playing time, but after every Miami possession change, Brady trotted back on the...
