Who Could Sneak into the Title Game?

By now, every college sports fan on the planet has heard a great deal about the few teams at the top of the race for a BCS Championship. Put simply, Alabama, Oregon and Ohio State are overwhelming favorites to compete for the title, with LSU on the fringe of that group and seemingly everyone else lagging behind. Unfortunately, college football is not a sport that tends to lend itself to big surprises in rankings or outcomes – but nonetheless,...

College Football: Week 1 Predictions

We’re here to give you a rundown of the college football picks for Week 1 of the new season and which games may have the best available value to attack. While there’s a huge amount of games for opening week, there’s only a few we’re going to touch on here. Tate Forcier Turns Pro, Signs with the Tiger-Cats

Michigan recruit targets Ohio State

The rivalry between “the team up north” and “that school down south” takes no breaks during the off-season. Michigan’s top recruit Ondre Pipkins, who’s letter of intent is still hot of the presses, truly understands the animosity between the two schools. In a radio interview on Ann Arbor’s WTKA, the 6-foot-3, 320-pound defensive tackle spoke his piece about Ohio State and its recruits. Pipkins matched up against Ohio State’s top offensive lineman recruit Kyle Dodson in last week’s Army...

Virginia Tech struggles to sell BCS tickets, students guilt tripped

Virginia Tech is having difficulties in selling its allotment of 17,500 tickets for the 2012 Allstate Sugar Bowl. As of Monday evening, Tech only sold about 9,500 tickets. This is considerably low considering Tech’s reputation of traveling well and garnering strong fan support. In a desperate attempt to boost ticket sales, Tech’s top brass asked, if not guilted, fans to purchase proxy tickets. “The Athletics Department is asking Hokie fans that cannot make this year’s Allstate Sugar Bowl to...

Michigan gambles by adding Appalachian State in 2014

Seven years ago, Michigan was the laughing stock of college football after Appalachian State, Division 1-AA powerhouse, blocked a game winning field-goal stunning, not to mention embarrassing, the Wolverines in a 32-34 upset.  The shock waves are still present in Ann Arbor, and to exact revenge, Michigan’s AD David Brandon agreed to reschedule a date with Appalachian State for the 2014 season opener.  In Montgomery Burns fashion, Brandon cracked his knuckles and announced to the Wolverine Nation that “we look...

Tate Forcier finds new home in San Jose State

On a warm September day back in 2009, heralded freshman sensation Tate Forcier hit Greg Matthews for a 5-yard TD score with 11 seconds remaining giving the Wolverines a 38-34 upset victory over No. 18 Notre Dame.  The media raved at Forcier’s demeanor during the unlikely winning drive acknowledging a star was born in the Michigan ranks.  Unfortunately for Forcier, after that tremendous victory, he has been anything but a luminary in Ann Arbor. For Forcier, there is...
