Jordan Campbell sticks his toungue out at USC, elects to transfer

In light of the NCAA regulated free-transfer policy for USC’s juniors and seniors, the first player to take advantage of this opportunity is red-shirt junior LB Jordan Campbell. Entering 2010, Campbell was concerned about playing time and as an upperclassman didn’t want to transfer knowing he would have to sit out for a year. With the NCAA coming down on USC, an exit door was just opened. Campbell saw an opportunity to transfer and to immediately start for another...

Will there be an exodus from Troy?

In the aftermath of the fall of Troy, the NCAA cleared the way for USC juniors and seniors to-be to transfer from the team without being forced to sit out a season. Schools are now free to initiate contact with such players who fall into this category. The NCAA rule allows for a waiver to be granted if the school has a postseason ban in place during the transfer. Unfortunately, this rule does not apply to USC freshman who have recently...

Barkley still injured, Mustain waiting in the wings

SC’s Matt Barkley is having his right hand reexamined today after injuring it in Saturday’s spring game. During the 3rd quarter, Barkley struck DT Jurrell Casey’s helmet on his follow through. As a precautionary measure, Barkley was immediately taken out of the game to rest and ice his injured hand. Sheriff Lane Kiffin was displeased with the injury and tossed Casey out of the game for his aggressive play. Though we do not know the extent of Barkley’s injury, it...

Myles isn’t all smiles

Tennessee might want to think about scrapping their football program and come back in a few years, you know, sort of like Enron. Since college football’s resident diva Lane Kiffin left Tennessee for the younger, sexier, USC, Tennessee and Derek Dooley have been in a tailspin that seems to dive deeper with every passing week. Fresh off Tennessee’s annual Orange and White game Saturday, safety Darren Myles, Jr. celebrated a little too much and was picked up by Knoxville’s...

Mono strikes USC’s Ellison

Someone was doing a little more than lifting weights during the off-season. It looks like USC’s tight end Rhett Ellison will be sidelined for the entire spring practice as he battles a bout of mono. Rhett was the leading candidate to be the starting tight end for the new Lane Kiffin offense. Last season he played in all 13 games hauling in 6 catches, 41 yards, and 1 TD. With TE Blake Ayles nursing an ankle injury, the door...

Brown bolts from Tennessee

Highly touted running back Bryce Brown is leaving the Tennessee Volunteers. The rising sophomore missed Tennessee’s first day of spring practice on Thursday and informed new head coach Derek Dooley along with other members of the UT coaching staff that he would not be returning. This news comes as a huge shock to the Volunteer faithful as Brown was one of Tennessee’s most highly recruited prospects in recent history and many expected him to shatter several rushing records by the...

Is Lane Kiffin the Sexiest Woman Alive?

Lane Kiffin has reached an all time low or high, depending on how you look at it. His charm and personality has landed him on Esquire’s field of 64 for the prestigious “Sexiest Woman Alive” contest. The contest is a single elimination bracket type format presumably paying homage to March Madness. Unfortunately, Kiffin got a bad draw as he is the 16thseed paired up against the #1 seed and the sexy LPGA Natalie Gulbis in the Sports division. However, with your help, he has an...

The Mouth of the South keeps Running

Lane Kiffin hasn’t even been USC’s head coach for 3 months, yet he’s back to running his mouth again. College football’s resident court jester has given the press plenty of fodder since his arrival at Tennessee last year and it looks like the LA media outlets will have their fair share of sound bytes from him. In a recent interview with Sporting News columnist Matt Hayes, Kiffin claimed that he would have won an SEC championship he had stayed with...
