On Wednesday, CB Victor Hampton signed his letter of intent and became a part of South Carolina’s 2010 impressive recruiting class. On Friday, he signed his intake papers at Darlington County Jail for underage drinking becoming a part of a growing number of athletes landing behind bars. In the aftermath of his signing celebration, this four-star recruit decided to take his own party to school and celebrate by getting his drink on in homeroom. Much to the dismay of...

The Ghost of Cameron Newton

Last season Florida Gator QB Cameron Newton almost had it all except for a personal computer. So the star recruit took it upon himself to steal another student’s laptop. When officers arrived at his dormitory, he panicked and threw the $1,700 laptop out of his dorm window with hopes of hiding the evidence. Surprise surprise, that plan did not work and the officers caught on to Newton’s plan. As a result, Newton was arrested for the computer theft and...

Vandy’s QB Smith out, Mac in

For all you Vandy fans, the word is out. Starting QB Larry Smith suffered a season ending hamstring injury during last Saturday’s loss to Georgia Tech. At first, there was a slim chance that Smith could return, but after his MRI revealed an actual tear, it made clear Smith will not return anytime soon. Coach Bobby Johnson confirmed the extent of Smith’s injury and announced Senior QB Mackenzi Adams, who has made nine previous starts for the Commodores, will replace Smith in the...

Doe & Jenkins LLC

In a highly anticipated match-up this weekend (hahahaha), Florida’s Urban Meyer has listed LB Dustin Doe and CB Janoris Jenkins as eligible to play in Saturday’s game against Troy. As you recall, Doe (arrested for driving on a suspended license) and Jenkins (resisting arrest) both sat out during the home opener due to off-the-field incidents. The outcome of this game won’t be much different with or without Doe and Jenkins, but both players do need to get some real playing time before the...

There will be absolutely no smoking at any athletic facility come this season. As one overly confident fan proclaims, “the only smoking will be Florida smoking its opponents!”
