When officers arrived at his dormitory, he panicked and threw the $1,700 laptop out of his dorm window with hopes of hiding the evidence.
Surprise surprise, that plan did not work and the officers caught on to Newton’s plan. As a result, Newton was arrested for the computer theft and coach kicked him off the Gators squad. Fortunately for Newton, Blinn College does not have a strict policy when it comes to criminal activity and the AD believes in giving those with a strong arm a second chance. Newton immediately walked on the team and led the Buccaneers to the junior national championship earlier this month. His reward for his win over Fort Scott Community College? Scholarship offers to some of the nation’s top programs , including Arizona, Auburn, North Carolina, and Oklahoma. Florida was not an option.

Let’s all hope he learned from his immature mistake. After all, Newton threw for 2,833 yards and 22 touchdowns, and rushed for 655 yards and 16 more scores. What D-1 program wouldn’t want those numbers?
