Vandy QB Larry Smith is finished for the season after suffering a torn hamstring

For all you Vandy fans, the word is out. Starting QB Larry Smith suffered a season ending hamstring injury during last Saturday’s loss to Georgia Tech. At first, there was a slim chance that Smith could return, but after his MRI revealed an actual tear, it made clear Smith will not return anytime soon.

Coach Bobby Johnson confirmed the extent of Smith’s injury and announced Senior QB Mackenzi Adams, who has made nine previous starts for the Commodores, will replace Smith in the starting line-up.

For the season, Vandy is a disappointing 2-7 and 0-5 in conference play. The Commodores travel to Gainesville this weekend to face the #1 Gators.
