Spectators at USF home football games this season will notice a larger than normal law enforcement presence. No, there’s no free donut promotion for USF football game attendees. Rather, the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office, the Tampa Police Department, and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms, all will be working in sweet harmony to ensure that underage spectators are not partaking in any drinking festivities or having someone else purchase the refreshment for them. Former Duke point guard, and emotional leader, Greg Paulus was named the Syracuse starting QB earlier today. The 2005 Gatorade Male Athlete of the Year, was a football and basketball  phenom at Christian Brothers Academy (NY) and was heavily recruited by top division 1 programs in both sports. Darrell Givens, a star Maryland  high school cornerback and Rutgers recruit,  is still awaiting word from Rutgers officials about his admission to the New Jersey school. The issue delaying the admissions process is with Givens’s high school transcripts from Friendly (MD) HS.  Givens had initially signed a letter of intent to play for Penn State earlier this year but the school withdrew its offer earlier this week, which was a surprise to him.
