Georgia’s Richt unfairly feeling the increased pressure

The calls for Georgia head coach Mark Richt’s head are growing louder and louder with each passing day. UGA fans from all over the state are becoming increasingly frustrated with their front man, and the news of UGA’s QB Logan Gray’s potential transfer doesn’t bode well for Richt’s job security. In today’s instant gratification society, sports fans want to win, and win NOW. However, Georgia firing Richt would be one of the worst mistakes the school’s athletic department could make....

Dawgs leash tightens in Georgia

In an attempt to take the fun out of tailgating, University of Georgia officials announced a few new rules regarding pre-game rituals for the 2010 football season. As a campus wide enactment and in an anti-Southern movement, there will be no more deep fryers or low boilers on campus. Also, for all you cheapskates who park in the garages, you are no longer allowed to use grills in or on top of the parking decks.   For those of you...

Beloved Bulldog Dies

Some sad news out of the University of Georgia, Uga VII, “Loran’s Best,” has passed away today as a result of a heart attack. He had the shortest tenure of any of the Uga family, but he did compile a winning record of 16-7. He made his debut on August 30, 2008 during the Georgia Southern game. As a sign of mourning, there will be no live mascot during Georgia’s game this Saturday. Rather, a wreath will be placed...

Meyer speaks, is fined $30,000.00

Urban Meyer’s public outrage with SEC officiating has just earned him a $30,000 fine (less than 1% of his $4 million annual salary). The fine is related to public comments made after the Georgia game regarding an alleged late non-call hit on his son-he-never-had Tim Tebow. Meyer was outraged by the non-call and publicly expressed his frustration over the officiating. This lack of self control ended up costing him money, but fortunately the conference did not include a suspension as well. The fine is based on...

Suspended license = Suspended for game

Georgia’s back-up CB Vance Cuff decided to take a shortcut after a long day at the football facility, but his quest to save time proved to be costly. After practice, Cuff jumped on his scooter and cut through a street that was closed for construction. Unfortunately, his little scooter caught the eyes of University of Georgia police. Upon pulling over Cuff, it was discovered that his driver’s license was suspended. He was arrested on misdemeanor charges to include driving on a...

Take A Timeout On The Flags

College football is a game of passion, emotion, and energy. However, refs have taken it too far with penalizing every little celebration for excessive celebration. Many times, these calls have altered the outcome of the game which is totally ridiculous.  Last week Georgia’s A.J. Green caught the seemingly game winning touchdown against LSU with under a minute the go in the 4th quarter. After snagging the pass and scoring, Green was justifiably excited and celebrated with his teammates in...

A King gets crushed

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution is reporting that Georgia RB Caleb King fractured his jaw and suffered a concussion in last Saturday’s loss to the LSU Tigers. At first, the severity of his injury was either not known or overlooked as King continued to play after taking the injury causing hit. In fact, coach Mark Richt  will play King this Saturday against Tennessee if he gets a medical clearance. Both Richt and Meyer (Meyer wants Tebow to play against LSU) are anxious...

UGA Fans In The Doghouse

UGA Fans In The Doghouse

Georgia fans are being asked by school officials to make a better effort to clean up after themselves following home football games. According to UGA president Michael Adams, tailgaters left behind 70 tons of trash following Georgia’s Sept. 12th game against South Carolina. That’s right, SEVENTY tons. Some fans even used the lawns as toilets by going both number 1 and 2 on campus grounds. That’s expected behavior for UGA VII, but certainly not for adults. These disgusting antics were met...
