May the Forcier be with you

Tate Forcier’s heroic efforts in Saturday’s comeback win against Indiana provided much needed relief to a Wolverine team clawing its way back to the promised land. Unfortunately, during the win, Forcier appeared to have injured his right shoulder after taking a days worth of beatings.  During the 4th quarter, he was in obvious pain when throwing the ball and he was constantly favoring his shoulder. It also did not help that his teammates incidentally were making it worse. Coach Rodriguez is limiting Forcier this week in...

OL Brandon Carter Suspended

A frustrated Texas Tech team not only lost 28-29 in a back-and-forth game with No. 17 Houston, but the team will be without the services of colorful OL Brandon Carter. Coach Mike Leach suspended Carter indefinitely for violating team rules. This is a huge hit for Tech as Carter is not a only a bodyguard for Potts, but he is also a captain of the team. As of now, the school is not releasing any other details regarding the...

Hightower falls

The Crimson Tide suffered a huge hit on Saturday when LB Dont’a Hightower went down in the first quarter of Alabama’s win over Arkansas 35-7. At first, the extent of Hightower’s injury was unclear, but an MRI revealed severe ligament damage to his left knee. Hightower will opt to go under the knife and will miss the remainder of the season. This is a big hit for the Tide’s defense and LB corp. As Saban labeled Hightower as one...

Urban Meyer is an idiot!

This is why you bench your star QB when you are blowing out the opposition. There was no reason for Tebow to be in the game so late in the 3rd quarter when Florida already had the game sealed 31-7. However, all Coach Meyer seems to care about is winning and winning with Tebow regardless of the cost. If you look at the play calling, Tebow only threw the ball 10 times the entire game but had 16 carries...

DT Robertson out for the season

South Carolina’s 16-10 win over Ole Miss comes with a small price tag. Unfortunately, the Gamecocks’ DT Travian Robertson will miss the rest of the season with a torn ACL in his right knee. Robertson suffered this season ending injury during the 3rd quarter of Thursday’s game. The team released a statement late Friday night confirming the torn ACL and stated that Robertson is scheduled for surgery in the coming weeks. Robertson is listed as a junior so he...

Bradford gunning for medical clearance

Ever since Sam Bradford went down, his national championship and Heisman hopes came crumbling down with him. Bradford now has an opportunity to get back on the field and reclaim those hopes and dreams. As The Matador reported earlier in the week, Bradford threw off the sling and began practicing by running non-contact short passing drills. However, before he can air-it-out or actually play, he must get a medical clearance. It appears he is taking this step today as...

Why leave sunny Florida?

Jacksonville.com reports that Florida consistently refuses to play stronger out of conference teams unlike other SEC powerhouses. For example, in 2005, Arkansas played at SoCal and Tennessee played at Cal in 2007 and then at UCLA in 2008. Georgia took the long distance flight to Arizona State last season and this season LSU traveled to Washington. Next season, Alabama is playing a home-and-home against Big 10 powerhouse Penn State. SEC schools are scheduling difficult non-conference BCS opponents, but it...

WR Bryant has injury bug

It’s comforting to see a school not prematurely throw back injured athletes onto the field for the sake of winning. Much to the dismay of the Cowboys faithful, Oklahoma State’s Dez Bryant will be held out of today’s game against Grambling State. The top WR in the nation is still nursing a tweaked hamstring and the school believes the best course of action would be to rest Bryant until he is fully recovered (Pete Carroll, please take notes). The...
