This is why you bench your star QB when you are blowing out the opposition. There was no reason for Tebow to be in the game so late in the 3rd quarter when Florida already had the game sealed 31-7. However, all Coach Meyer seems to care about is winning and winning with Tebow regardless of the cost. If you look at the play calling, Tebow only threw the ball 10 times the entire game but had 16 carries for 123 yards–more than any RB on the team (Demps had 12 carries and Moody had 5). It’s clear Meyer is riding Tebow for all he is worth regardless of Tebow’s health. Again, when a player is already sick, why keep him in a blowout game?
