WR Miller out for 4-6 Weeks

Arkansas Razorback WR Lucas Miller broke his collar bone during yesterday’s practice. He is scheduled to have surgery today. If all goes well, he will be out for 4-6 weeks, but should see some playing time shortly after the season opener. Miller is a 5th year senior, who originally walked-on as a red-shirt freshman. He has moved up the ranks of the depth chart and had a solid reserve role last season with 30 receptions for 490 yards and 2 TDs.

Southern Cal continues to draw attention whether they want to or not. This morning, DE Armond Armstead (So. 6’5, 295 lbs) broke his left foot, the fifth metatarsal, during a routine play in practice. Virginia Tech’s Zach Luckett was charged earlier this month with driving on a suspended license. He was stopped by Virginia Tech Police Officer Deriek Crouse on Aug. 6 and a report was filed Aug. 14. The suspension stems from Luckett’s 2008 DUI. Frank Beamer suspended Luckett because of the 2008 DUI and had his scholarship stripped. Eventually, the school allowed him to walk-on the team. Vandy starting defensive end Steve Stone will be sidelined for 6 weeks with  a broken foot. Stone has been a staple on the Vanderbilt D line as he’s started every game for the ‘Dores the past two seasons. He tied for a team best sack total with 5 last season. Vandy will miss his presence on the defensive side of the ball and they’re hoping that they can have him back in time for their October 17th meeting with Georgia.
