Kiffin to be memorialized in Knoxville

January 21, 2010

Fans are disgusted with Lane Kiffin’s selfish and sudden departure.  So much so that a Knoxville attorney and season ticket holder, Drew McElroy, drafted a check for $262 and filed the appropriate paperwork to have the city’s waste water treatment plant renamed the Lane Kiffin Sewage Center. He is convinced that this cesspool of waste is a fitting honorary title that properly memorializes Kiffin’s actions and depicts everything Kiffin stands for and represents. It’s good to see the Vols nation...

USC continues to play dirty

Since being booted out of Tinseltown in 2004, Ed Orgeron has done everything in his power to come back to the west coast. With Lane Kiffin surprisingly dropping Tennessee for the Trojans, the door opened for Orgeron to pack his bags and follow Kiffin. Unfortunately, it looks like Orgeron wanted to take more than his personal belongings to Southern California. Prior to departing Knoxville, Orgeron contacted Tennessee’s mid-term enrollees and offered them a piece of advice–do not attend class this semester if you...

Rich Rod needs to know when to say when

Rich Rod’s tenure at Michigan has been anything but fabulous. He is certainly on the brink with the fans and boosters and improving his record is paramount as he heads into spring practice. With all the pressure to win, is it possible Rich Rod is sacrificing his players’ health for the betterment of his record? This was evident last season with quarterback Tate Forcier. In the first part of the season, Forcier was superb throwing 7 TDs against 2...

Gerhart gears for the NFL

Before the season started, no one was sure of Toby Gerhart’s football status and most people outside of Palo Alto never actually knew how good he was. In 2009, he was offered a lucrative baseball contract in June’s MLB draft but he eventually passed on it so he could continue his services as a Cardinal running back. This move turned out to be wise as Gerhart amassed 1,871 rushing yards and 28 rushing touchdowns in 2009–good enough to earn...

Vol Navy sets sail for Haiti

Lane Kiffin is a saint and he doesn’t even know it. When the Vols hired Kiffin to take the reigns, there was so much excitement and hope in the air that the school created the Adidas’ “It’s Time” Lane Kiffin t-shirt. Well in the wake of the most devastating earthquake in Haiti, a West Knoxville apparel store, Hound Dogs, is offering anyone who brings in their “It’s Time” t-shirt 20% off their next purchase. All the t-shirts collected will be...

I’m going to knock you out

It looks like Notre Dame’s star wide receiver is not immune to the law, even in his home state. This past Thursday at a house party near the frozen lakes of Minnesota, Michael Floyd was pounding some beers and drinking a couple of shots with his hometown pals. Apparently during the festivities, a fight involving 6-10 people broke out and spilled into the streets (at the intersection of 15th Av. SE and 6th St. SE) and Floyd wanted to...
