Rich Rod comes down hard on Forcier

Rich Rod’s tenure at Michigan has been anything but fabulous. He is certainly on the brink with the fans and boosters and improving his record is paramount as he heads into spring practice. With all the pressure to win, is it possible Rich Rod is sacrificing his players’ health for the betterment of his record?

This was evident last season with quarterback Tate Forcier. In the first part of the season, Forcier was superb throwing 7 TDs against 2 INTs. Then he was struck with a shoulder injury and his stats went downhill. Rather than treating the injury properly (the school labeled it as a sprain, when it was really a torn labrum), Forcier threw 7 INTs and 6 TDs in his final eight games.

Rich Rod at no point benched Forcier. He continued to play him despite obvious shoulder problems. If you look back at the film, you will see on several occasions Forcier grimaces and clinches his shoulder throughout the games.

Now that the season has ended and Forcier cannot take the pain anymore, he decided to get the proper treatment for his shoulder. Regardless of the treatment or rehabilitation, I’m sure Rich Rod will have him on the field come spring practice in the name of victory.
