Kentucky QB Hartline arrested

Where there is good news, bad news is sure to follow. Kentucky’s first year head coach Joker Phillips limped into post-season play despite a horrific 2-6 conference record. With Kentucky facing Pittsburgh in the BBVA Compass Bowl next month, Phillips may have to game plan without his starting quarterback. Unfortunately, he failed to qualify academically. To improve his grades and hone his football skills, Rumph enrolled in the Christian military boarding school, Fork Union Military Academy (FUMA) in Virginia. Come 2009, Rumph reapplied to Kentucky only to find out that his grades fell short once again. Though his spirits were down,...

Kentucky’s Brooks Retires

Rich Brooks announced today that he will not return as Kentucky’s football coach next season. Brooks is stepping down after seven years as the team’s coach. Joker Phillips, the team’s offensive coordinator, will replace Brooks. Phillips was named the team’s coach in waiting two season ago. Brooks compiled a 39-47 record with Kentucky and recently led them the four straight bowl games. He will go down in UK history as one of their better coaches and he’s left the program...
