The Gator Bowl (Florida State vs. West Virginia) has added 6,000 additional seats for FSU coach Bobby Bowden’s curtain call, bringing the stadium’s capacity to 83,500 for this year’s edition. The highly anticipated Gator Bowl sold out in a little under two hours after the match-up was announced this past Sunday.
Bowden will ride off into the sunset after the January 1st tussle, leaving behind a legacy in Tallahassee. Sure the old man has lost his touch over the past 5 or so years, but no one can argue about what he’s meant to Florida State. Jimbo Fisher, Bowden’s successor, will have large shoes to fill. It will be nice to see Bowden go out with a Gator Bowl win, his team will definitely have all the inspiration they need.
