Mountaineers’ wide receiver Stedman Bailey was cited for shoplifting Theraflu at a Kroger’s grocery store last week in Morgantown, West Virginia. Bailey, a Miramar, Florida native, was suspiciously walking around the Patteson Drive Kroger’s when an employee noticed Bailey concealing an over the counter cold medication. A Kroger’s employee approached Bailey, questioned him regarding the medication, and subsequently detained him until authorities arrived. ACC disappoints as bowl season ends with 2-6 record

Following West Virginia’s 70-33 rout of 14th ranked Clemson in last night’s Discover Orange Bowl, the ACC is a paltry 2-6 in bowl season play. This record marks the lowest winning percentage for AQ conferences for the 2011 season. It could have been worse, but thanks to Florida State’s heroic efforts in the Champs Sports Bowl edging Notre Dame 18-14 and NC State’s TD victory over Louisville 31-24, the ACC secured two much needed wins. To be fair, Virginia Tech and Georgia Tech...

Another ACC team struggles to sell BCS bowl tickets

First it was reported Virginia Tech is falling short of selling its allotment for the 2012 Allstate Sugar Bowl costing the school a significant amount of money, now it looks like Clemson is in the same financial predicament. The Tigers are projected to take a $185,000 hit just to play in the 2011 Orange Bowl. This is not good news for Clemson considering it is the program’s first major bowl appearance in 30 years. Clemson received $1.75 million in...

LSU fan severely beaten, 3 others injured

According to the Charleston Daily Mail, after LSU stomped an overrated and outclassed West Virginia team 47-21, Mountaineer fans decided to take out their frustration on random LSU fans. WVU’s OC Dana Holgorsen drinks himself to embarrassment

West Virginia’s current offensive coordinator and head coach-in-waiting Dana Holgorsen had a drunken laden incident at the Cross Lanes Mardi Gras Casino and Resort this past Wednesday. Apparently, Holgorsen was keeping with the West Virginia spirit by having a few too many drinks while rolling the dice. At approximately 3 a.m. on May 18th, Holgorsen became visibly intoxicated and refused to cooperate with casino management all while disturbing the patrons of the Mardi Gras Casino. Casino security had enough of Holgorsen’s...

WVU ponders beer sales at Mountaineer Field, fans displeased

According to Princeton Review, West Virginia University was the #4 party school in 2010. For some, a top five finish is very respectable. However, WVU’s athletic director, Oliver Luck, wants to be number one. In a vain attempt to reach the pinnacle of drunken debauchery, Mr. Luck proposes the introduction of beer sales at Mountaineer Field. His goal, among other things, is to increase concession stand sales and limit drinking before entering the stadium. For those lucky few who...
