There is good news and bad news to report out of South Bend, Indiana. For the good news, Irish fans will be getting a treat this Saturday as star WR Michael Floyd is making his long awaited return as he has been cleared to play against Navy this weekend. After breaking his collar bone 6 weeks ago against Michigan State, Floyd had successful surgery, went through rehab, and is now ready to make some big plays for the Irish.
Prior to Floyd’s injury, he was #2 in the nation for receiving averaging 160 yards per game. This is even better news for Clausen as he is making a long-shot run at the Heisman. The 6’3 220 pound WR will provide another amazing target for the heralded gun-slinger.
Now for the bad news, top recruit and back-up QB Dayne Crist is done for the season. Unfortunately, he tore his ACL in his right knee during last weeks blow-out win against Washington State. Crist will have surgery this Friday and will be out for 4-6 months.
