In the post-Masoli era, it looks like Eugene found its new triggerman much to the satisfaction of the Oregon faithful. Yesterday, QB Darron Thomas was named the starting quarterback for the Oregon Ducks. Thomas was in a heated QB battle with fifth year senior Nate Costa that lasted all preseason. The Ducks are keeping their beaks shut about the severity of QB Jeremiah Masoli’s knee injury sustained during Oregon’s 52-6 victory over ailing Washington State. Masoli took a tough sack in the first half of the game and a few plays later he left for good. During the second half, he was on the sidelines wearing his Duck warm-up suit.
