Foles To Start For AZ Wildcats

Arizona’s offense has looked anemic so far this season and they have struggled to find a consistent rhythm. Concerns about this has prompted ‘Zona head coach Mike Stoops to make a switch at quarterback. Matt Scott started the first three games of the season but struggled heavily last Saturday against the Iowa Hawkeyes in which he went 14-50 for 50 yards and an interception. Stoops is turning to Michigan State transfer Nick Foles with the hope that he can add a spark on offense.

Foles transferred to Arizona in 2008 after being buried on the Spartans depth chart. He’s seen action in all three games this season going 12-19 for 99 yards and 2 touchdowns. Foles is more of a traditional pocket passer while Scott is a dual threat. Even though Foles will start, Scott will still see some playing time. The Wildcats are 2-1 on the year and they open conference play this Saturday when they travel to Corvallis to take on the Oregon State Beavers.  Hopefully the move is the right one as Stoops is on the hot seat and needs a good season to ensure that he keeps his job.
