He wouldn’t give a Faulk

Marshall Faulk is pretty flippant about NCAA regulations. He understands Reggie Bush’s perspective with respect to cash payments to athletes but doesn’t see why coaches aren’t held accountable for violations. In an article by Jim Moore, Faulk stated that he would have had no problem taking money while in school if it was offered to him. “Were you ever offered anything in college?” I asked. “Nah, I went to San Diego State,” Faulk said. “Other than good weather, they...

It is no secret that the Aztecs have had financial difficulties in the last few seasons and were aggressively seeking a big payday. The AD would have...

Fly with the Falcons

For the year, I’m 1-1 on my lock of the week. I should be 2-0, but Northwestern’s turnover late in the 4th quarter killed my undefeated streak. So if you are looking to make some money back, my lock this Saturday is Air Force over San Diego State. In the last 2 meetings, Air Force has won by over a combined total of 57 points. Air Force is going to run all over San Diego State as they lead...

Rogan breaks a Prince’s Jaw

UCLA had an impressive 19-15 win over Tennessee this past Saturday. However, the win may prove to be costly as UCLA’s star freshman QB Kevin Prince suffered a broken jaw when the Vols’ Dennis Rogan sacked him for a safety with 1:41 to play. Prince will have his jaw wired shut and he should be out 3-4 weeks. Prince is having a promising start leading the Bruins to a 2-0 record with victories over San Diego State and Tennessee....

Play Ball

Amid growing concerns over wildfires in LA, UCLA has decided that it will play it’s season opener this Saturday against San Diego State.  However, school officials are still monitoring the situation and could postpone the game if need be. During his weekly press conference, Bruin coach Rick Neuheisel announced that the game will be played as scheduled. “We’re going to leave that to the experts, the people in Pasadena and the people fighting the fire,” Neuheisel said. “We just...
