Though the exact illness has not been determined, Alabama players are showing signs of H1N1 symptoms. The Tide are reporting that at least 10 players have been hit with this flu-like symptom. The biggest name to report having this illness is All-American defensive tackle Terrence Cody.
Commenting on the illness, Nick Saban states, “I’m no doctor. I’m not a physician. I don’t really want to compare or predict because I really don’t know, but the guys that have been sick, they have been sick for two or three days.”
Cody has already missed two practices thus far because of being sick and is slated to miss more. There is cause for concern, because regardless of what the final diagnosis is, Alabama needs all their players, to include Cody, at 100% when the Tide face-off against Virginia Tech on opening day.
As reported earlier by The Matador, Duke and Tulane have both experienced H1N1 problems with their athletes. The question is, which team is next?
