Baylor’s Costly Gorditas

Two Baylor football players failed to think outside the bun this past weekend. WRs Willie Jefferson and Josh Gordon decided to make a run for the border in the wee hours of Sunday morning to curb the midnight munchies. Unfortunately, the two players had the right game plan but failed in the execution. At approximately 2:15 am Sunday morning cops arrived at the local Baylor Taco Bell only to find Willie Jefferson passed out in the front seat of...

Iowa’s Norm Parker puts his best foot forward

Sadly, Iowa defensive coordinator Norm Parker had his right foot amputated last month due to complications from his battle with diabetes. Though he has been hospitalized since September, head coach Kirk Ferentz is anxiously waiting for Parker’s return to spur an Iowa defensive that ranks 4th in the nation allowing only 242.2 yards per game. Ferentz is more than confident that Parker will be back coaching prior to the end of the season and Parker wants nothing more but to...

The Big (East) Debacle

The Big East continues to sink further into the depths of irrelevance and the calls for the conference to lose its automatic qualifying bid grow louder and louder. As we are well into the college football season, there is no Big East team in the Top 25. The conference has failed miserably in its non-conference play boasting a combined record of 19-14, average at best. However, when you consider 9 out of the 19 wins came against DI-AA teams,...

Tom Brady hates Michigan State

As evidenced last night during MNF, shag-a-licous Tom Brady hates Michigan State. The former Wolverine, who lead the Patriots to a dominating 41-14 rout over the Dolphins, did not want back-up Brian Hoyerto see any substantive playing time despite the Patriots sealing the victory midway through the 4th quarter late last night. Hoyer, one of Sparty’s QB career leaders in several offensive categories, was itching for playing time, but after every Miami possession change, Brady trotted back on the...

UNC’s Greg Elleby out for the season

Life is not getting any easier for Coach Butch Davis and the Chapel Hill faithful, with NCAA infractions looming, player suspensions, and a 2-2 record, the university is reporting that defensive tackle Greg Elleby will miss the remainder of the season due to injury. Elleby tore his ACL and MCL in his left knee this past weekend during UNC’s 42-17 win over ECU. The Tabor City, NC native is expected to go under the knife this week with the...

Buffaloes stampede Folsum Field

The last time the Colorado Buffaloes had reason to celebrate, George W. Bush was in office and the Buffs knocked off #21 West Virginia in an edge-of-your-seat 17-14 overtime victory. Fast forward to 2010, the Colorado nation now has something to cheer about after a strong non-conference showing going 3-1 with one setback at the hands of Cal 52-7. The eyes of excitement were apparent by the ecstatic fans rushing Folsum Field after the Buffs upset Georgia 29-27 this past...
