CHICAGO – September 29, 2010 – Big Ten fans on the go have a new way to stay connected to their favorite teams with the Official 2010 Big Ten Network Football App now available on the App Store. Developed in conjunction with Double Encore, the app, available for iPhone and iPod touch, is free to download and offers a one-time premium upgrade through In-App Purchase for $7.99.

The Big Ten Network Football App offers in-game tracking with live team and individual statistics, detailed play-by-play updates and a visual drive chart, plus the latest Big Ten news, schedules, conference standings, national rankings and conference leaders. There is also easy access to the Big Ten Network’s television schedule.

The premium upgrade includes live radio feeds from all 11 schools’ radio network as well as on-demand video clips of Big Ten highlights, and features and interviews from the Big Ten Network.

“Between the live radio feeds and the app’s live drive charts, this is the only app Big Ten fans need on football Saturdays,” said Michael Calderon, Big Ten Network VP/Digital and Interactive Media.

The Official 2010 Big Ten Network Football App is available for free from the App Store on iPhone and iPod touch or at www.itunes.com/appstore/ <http://www.itunes.com/appstore/> .

“We’re psyched to be a partner of the Big Ten Network,” said Dan Burcaw, Founder and CEO of Double Encore.  “We approached this app from the perspective of a true fan, which meant we had to push the technology envelope in order to achieve the sensation of ‘being at the game,’ while still delivering relevant information to satisfy a fan’s thirst for up-to-the-minute stats and engaging content.”
