Things are getting a little hairy for the Beaver football team. Gas prices in Corvallis, Oregon, apparently are so high that folks are resorting to stealing golf carts for their mode of transportation. Brennan Olander, a 6’1, 276 lb. defensive tackle was arrested along with former Oregon State football players QB Lyle Moevao, and LB Keaton Kristick. FedEx announced today that it was ending it’s twenty-one year long sponsorship of the Orange Bowl. FedEx executives decided that it was not in the company’s best financial interest to continue sponsoring the bowl game. The change of heart from FedEx stems from the result of ESPN taking over broadcasting rights of BCS games from FOX Broadcasting Company beginning in 2011. According to former Florida defensive back Wondy Pierre-Louis, the Gainesville Green was around in abundance for the 2006 Florida Gator football team. Pierre-Louis estimates about 75 percent of the 2006 team smoked marijuana based on internal talks among players and teammates posting positive tests. Football is coming to Wrigley Field. A deal was reached last Thursday that will bring the Northwestern Wildcats and the Illinois Fighting Illini to Wrigley for a game on November 20th, 2010.
