Things are getting a little hairy for the Beaver football team. Gas prices in Corvallis, Oregon, apparently are so high that folks are resorting to stealing golf carts for their mode of transportation. Brennan Olander, a 6’1, 276 lb. defensive tackle was arrested along with former Oregon State football players QB Lyle Moevao, and LB Keaton Kristick. The three men stole the golf cart from the Oregon State athletic offices and used it for three days before flipping it over and ditching it in a school parking lot. The three have been charged with felony unauthorized use of a vehicle.
This isn’t Olander’s first tussle with the law as he was charged with and pleaded guilty to a second-degree theft charge earlier this year. Oregon State head coach Mike Riley hasn’t commented on the situation as he’s out of town, but one can’t help but think that he won’t be too pleased with Olander. It won’t be too big of a surprise if he spends some time on the bench for his latest incident.
