Best To Sit For Cal’s Bowl Game

Cal’s star RB Jahvid Best will not play in the team’s Poinsetta Bowl game. Best suffered a frightening concussion in early November and hasn’t played a down of football since. This has been a disappointing end of the season for the one time Heisman hopeful. Before suffering the injury, Best had rushed for 864 yards and 16 TDs. This is probably the wisest move by Cal’s coaching staff. Best is a junior and has not yet mentioned his intentions...

Leavitt Chokes Again

USF coach Jim Leavitt is in the news again for one of his infamous choke jobs. This time it is not on the football field, but rather, the locker room. According to plaintiff Joel Miller and several witnesses, Leavitt struck Miller twice in the face while grabbing his neck.  If true, these charges may be enough to send South Florida’s only coach packing. This story has taken more twists than a General Hospital episode since being reported yesterday. Miller and...

Brian Kelly’s House Egged

“Spent most of the morning on the phone with recruits,” Kelly wrote. “House got egged last night and the sign on the lawn wasn’t a FOR SALE sign.” This precious message was twitted to former Cincinnati head coach Brian Kelly’s Twitter account earlier today. Apparently, some disgruntled Bearcat fans took their frustration over Kelly’s departure to Notre Dame out on his home with a few cartons of eggs. One can’t help but wonder if WR Mardy Gilyard helped lead the charge....
