Former Cougar Derrick Dillon Chained

Former Washington State special teams specialist Derrick Dillon was charged with first-degree robbery for a bank robbery earlier this month in the city of Shoreline, Washington. As a result of this nabbing, Dillon is also a suspect in two other bank robberies. The King County police have been investigating the speedster for holding up a bank in Milton on June 8 and Snohomish County on May 31. In Milton, Dillon apparently passed a note to an unsuspecting bank teller...

Two Cougars have too much ganja, dismissed from team

The Washington State Cougars’ (2-10) roster was reduced by two today with the dismissal of safety Jamal Atofau and linebacker Andre Barrington. Back in October, the two redshirt freshmen were suspended from the team after Pullman police discovered 38 marijuana plants growing in the basement of their rental home. After the discovery, the university did not dismiss the players because officials were waiting for the investigation to conclude. However, head coach Paul Wulff finally had no choice but to dismiss the...

After two arrests, OSU’s Johnson returns to the field

As preseason football comes to full swing in Stillwater, Coach Mike Gundy is easing the noose around the neck of Victor Johnson. Despite being charged last month with driving while intoxicated and then possession of marijuana, Coach Gundy is allowing his free safety to return to the field in a limited capacity. The Waco, Texas native was not expected to see the field until the disposition of his criminal cases. However, after the loss of safety Daytawion Lowe and...

Cougars top list: Worst team in the BCS

There is much debate as to who is the best team in the nation, but there is absolutely no controversy when labeling the worst team in the BCS. This illustrious honor goes to the Washington State Cougars. Folks over at Pullman were blanketed in conference play last year and haven’t won a road game since George Bush was in office. Thank the lord Jesus they did manage one win last season in an OT miracle over Southern Methodist University....

Washington State Cougar banned for substance abuse

Because Washington State football woes cannot seem to catch a break, it’s only fitting that defensive lineman Dan Spitz has been ruled ineligible for the first 9 games of the 2010 season. Spitz, a redshirt sophomore, must ride the pine after the NCAA determined he violated the banned substance abuse policy. Though the NCAA will not disclose the results of the test, use of stimulants, steroids, or other diuretics may trigger a positive result. Players are encouraged to consult...

Turning over a new Leaf

Former Washington State QB and NFL bust Ryan Leaf will plead guilty for his involvement with drugs and burglary. In exchange for the guilty plea, he will get 10 years of probation and pay a $20,000.00 fine. Assuming the judge accepts the plea, Leaf can put his Hydrocodone addiction behind him. If you don’t recall, Ryan Leaf was a stud at Washington State and was a top NFL draft pick. After his four year stint in the NFL he...

Carroll to start injured Barkley

After a disheartening loss to Washington last weekend 13-16, Pete Carroll has had enough of Aaron Corp and will start QB Matt Barkley this Saturday. As Barkley takes snaps under center against Washington State, the question remains is he being thrown into the game prematurely? Carroll’s announcement seems a bit umbrageous, stating that Barkley’s bruised right shoulder has healed enough to put him back in the lineup. The phrase “has healed enough” should be a concern for fans and Barkley....

RB Ivory Dismissed from Team

It looks like its getting a little worse for Washington State and Coach Paul Wulff. The Seattle Times is reporting senior RB and Texas native Chris Ivory has been kicked off the team for violating team rules–missing too many practices. Ivory has amassed a paltry 534 rushing yards in 3 seasons with the Cougars. He is buried deep in the depth chart behind the likes of RB Dwight Tardy and RB James Montgomery. The Cougars did not see much of Ivory...
