Wazzu QB Connor Halliday suffers lacerated liver

Washington State redshirt freshman quarterback Connor Halliday made his first career start Saturday versus the Utah Utes, but unfortunately he might have made his last, at least for this season. During Wazzu’s thrilling but heartbreaking 30-27 OT loss to Utah, Halliday took several hits to the body throughout the game causing Halliday to suffer a lacerated liver. After the game, Halliday complained of intense pain so he was taken to Pullman Regional Hospital where specialists ultimately diagnosed the extent...

Will the real Montana please stand up?

With a last name like Montana, you are almost expected to be great especially under center. Unfortunately, the Montana name did not translate to success for Joe Montana’s eldest son Nate. Now that Nate’s career is all but over (currently plays for the University of Montana), it’s Nick ’s time to carry on the Montana torch. Earlier today, head coach Steve Sarkisian tweeted to the Husky nation that red-shirt freshman Nick Montana will get his first career start as...

Wanted: Die-hard Nebraska Fans

In another indication that the NCAA over indulges in bowl revenue capacity, the Nebraska Cornhuskers can’t give away Holiday Bowl tickets. As a Holiday Bowl participant, Nebraska is required to sell or purchase 11,000 tickets per their allotment agreement. As of today, only 7,500 have been sold. This means Nebraska is on the hook for $210,000.00. Well it doesn’t take one with a business and marketing degree to see why Nebraska can’t sell their share of tickets. Here is...

UCLA, Brehaut knocked out by smash-mouth Huskies

The hits just keep on coming for UCLA. During the 3rd quarter of last night’s loss to conference foe Washington, UCLA’s QB Richard Brehaut was leveled by safety Nate Williams after Brehaut was coming in for a slide. The play resulted in a helmet-to-helmet personal foul, but more importantly it ended the night for Brehaut. Brehuat tried to continue but he was suffering from concussion like symptoms that caused the team doctor to bench the dazed QB and forced Rick...

Pelini’s Peso Worth Every Dollar

Without a doubt, Nebraska boasts the best defense in college football and the man responsible is Carl Pelini. Not to take anything away from QB Taylor Martinez and the Cornhuskers’ explosive ground game, but it’s Carl Pelini’s ingenious defensive schemes that is responsible for a 5-0 start. On Thursday, Nebraska opened Big XII play in dominating fashion, limiting Kansas State’s Heisman hopeful RB Daniel Thomas to just 63 yards on 22 carries, well below his 157 yards/game average. Currently,...

Belichick and Tebow Break Bread

It’s no surprise to college football and NFL followers alike that New England head coach Bill Belichick is a fan of Tim Tebow. Belichick has been a long time friend of Gator head coach Urban Meyer and their relationship goes beyond just the football field. Belichick has spoken very highly about Tebow and even gave him a glowing endorsement at  league meetings last week. “He’s had a great career. There are a lot of positives. I’m sure he’s going...

Danny Sullivan is the bomb

For my east coast brethren, if you missed the Arizona State v. Washington game, you missed an exciting ending. Danny Sullivan launched a 50 yard cannon with 13 seconds left to play. It was the 4th quarter and the score was knotted at 17-17. Arizona State had the ball on the 50 yard line and everyone including Washington figured the game would go to overtime, but Sullivan thought otherwise. Watch the video and check out Washington’s secondary, they were...
