Danny Sullivan is the bomb

October 18, 2009 By: The Matador Category: The PAC 10

For my east coast brethren, if you missed the Arizona State v. Washington game, you missed an exciting ending. Danny Sullivan launched a 50 yard cannon with 13 seconds left to play. It was the 4th quarter and the score was knotted at 17-17. Arizona State had the ball on the 50 yard line and everyone including Washington figured the game would go to overtime, but Sullivan thought otherwise. Watch the video and check out Washington’s secondary, they were totally out of position.

Incidentally, the spread was Arizona State -6.5. With the last second TD, the Sun Devils covered and The Matador’s lock of the week proved to be correct.

  1. Bombs away. I love it, it was almost as good as Kordell Stewart’s hailmary against Michigan, but at least in that game, Michigan had some coverage. Way to blow it Washington.

    Artie-

Thank you Artie. My editorial team will get it! A mistake like that should not be made, or at the very least, it should be caught.

  3. It’s the Sun Devils! The Wildrats preside a little farther south…Mexico!

  4. Artie's Triple Chin says:

“The Wildcats covered.” I’m trying hard here not to be vicious or juvenile. I may make it another sentence or two before my sarcasm comes out of the gate breathing fire. Wildcats = the OTHER team in Tucson. Arizona State (Or ASU, Devils, but never A-State!) = Sun Devils. Tnamk you for your cooperation. Management appreciates your contributions.

  5. The author is correct, the secondary was no where to be found. Did Washington blow that game on purpose? If you look closely, there were no deep safeties and the CB appeared to run the other way. Why wouldnt you just have a prevent D on the field?
