UConn’s McKee turns to child porn, arrested

Unless you count an orange jumpsuit as a Connecticut uniform, Husky fans will never get to see OT Greg McKee sporting a UConn jersey. In disturbing news, the University of Connecticut is reporting Greg McKee, a 6’6 290 pound offensive lineman who loves piano and cello was arrested for child pornography. He is being held on a $75,000.00 bond and is scheduled to be arraigned in Superior Court this morning for obscenity, importing child pornography and promoting a minor in...

Spygate: UConn Edition

If you are wondering why UConn went from preseason Big East contender to the bottom of the basement, think no more. The program recently learned that there is a spy amongst the student body. A displeased Randy Edsall announced that somebody has been spying on the Huskies’s practice. Apparently, some proprietary information from the football team’s recent practice was revealed and made public. There was a depiction of each and every move players made from the dorm room to...

The Big (East) Debacle

The Big East continues to sink further into the depths of irrelevance and the calls for the conference to lose its automatic qualifying bid grow louder and louder. As we are well into the college football season, there is no Big East team in the Top 25. The conference has failed miserably in its non-conference play boasting a combined record of 19-14, average at best. However, when you consider 9 out of the 19 wins came against DI-AA teams,...

UConn in panic mode

After going 1-2, UConn Coach Randy Edsall is pushing the panic button by deciding to prematurely lift the suspension of two quality back-up players. QB Cody Endres and LG Erik Kiraczea were both reinstated this past weekend after UConn’s abysmal loss to Temple 16-30. The pair were originally suspend back in August for violating unspecified team rules. But seeing how the season is playing out, Coach Edsall will need all of his players if he wants any realistic shot at...

DE Marcus Campbell tears ACL, out for season

UConn defensive end Marcus Campbell is out for the season after tearing his ACL in practice this weekend. This is a major setback for the talented DE who missed the entire 2009 season because of academic reasons. When Campbell first arrived in Storrs, he had a promising ’07-’08 campaign amassing 24 tackles, 2 sacks, and 4.5 tackles for a loss. The end was supposed to anchor the Huskies defense in 2010 as he had a strong spring practice and...

Former Trojan D.J. Shoemate defects to UConn

Not to sound like a broken record, but USC is again feeling the burn from the NCAA’s torching of the program. RB/WR D.J. Shoemate is leaving the school and heading to the greener pastures of UConn. Fans should appreciate that Shoemate didn’t downplay his reason for transferring. He simply stated it was a business decision. During his SC career he only amassed 2 yards total on the ground and with the talent at RB he would never have seen...

UConn down a starting QB

UConn’s woes continue. Not only did the team suffer a loss against Rutgers on Saturday, but starting QB Cody Endres suffered a season ending shoulder injury in the first quarter similar to that of Sam Bradford’s. Endres had surgery this morning to repair his damaged shoulder and will shortly begin his road to recovery. Now that Endres is out, it looks like QB Zach Frazer, who lost the starting job when he suffered a knee injury earlier in the...
