Blame Meyer for Tebow’s injury, no one else

The entire Tim Tebow situation is appalling. The media is blowing this blame game way out of proportion as some are blaming the refs, the questionable hit, the coach, etc. The worst case of finger pointing I’ve seen to date is blaming the BCS for Tebow’s injury. When you look at the entire situation, there is only one person to blame, and that’s Coach Meyer. He is consumed by winning and consumed by winning with the son he never...

Tebow is back on the field

The Matador isn’t sure what’s going on down in Gainsville, but Tim Tebow has returned to practice, albeit on a limited basis. Though he hasn’t been officially cleared, he is slowly going through the motions as if he is going to play this Saturday against top rated LSU. Today, Tebow was in full pads and was throwing passes with the first team. Although, he did have a non-contact jersey which is typically worn by QBs. Even if the NCAA...

Urban Meyer is an idiot!

This is why you bench your star QB when you are blowing out the opposition. There was no reason for Tebow to be in the game so late in the 3rd quarter when Florida already had the game sealed 31-7. However, all Coach Meyer seems to care about is winning and winning with Tebow regardless of the cost. If you look at the play calling, Tebow only threw the ball 10 times the entire game but had 16 carries...

When The Matador thinks college football, Kenny Chesney does not come to mind. It pains me to think that part of Chesney will be incorporated into every single ESPN/ABC college football game this season. Last fall Kenny Chesney was at a Nashville dinner with play-by-play announcer Brett Musburger, football analyst Kirk Herbstreit and producer Bill Bonnell. Presumably with whiskey in hand, Chesney began scribbling lyrics on a cocktail napkin. These lyrics soon became a recorded song titled “This Is Our Moment.” The video...

GQ Comes To Gainesville

GQ Magazine is featuring a spread on college football’s most popular man. No, not Lou Holtz, but Tim Tebow is featured in the magazine’s latest edition. Word has it that they’re flying off of shelves in the south faster than Gen. Sherman burned through Atlanta. Yes ladies (and men), there is plenty of eye candy as Florida’s Superman poses shirtless for a few of the pics. We’re not too sure what Urban Meyerhas said to Tebow about this, and God...

Florida’s Secret Weapon?

Florida’s Secret Weapon?

Tim Tebow may have a little competition this season at the quarterback position. Ok, maybe I shouldn’t go that far, but Florida defensive back Joe Haden has been taking snaps from under center during Gator practices. Haden played quarterback at Friendly (MD) HS and set several state records for passing. He came to Florida in 2007 as an athlete but didn’t get the chance to compete for a quarterback spot. His athletic ability allowed him the rare opportunity to start at...

CaseKeenum_001 Top 5 QBs: 1. Tim Tebow (Florida) 2. Sam Bradford (Oklahoma) 3. Colt McCoy (Texas) 4. Casey Keenum (Houston) 5. The top three quarterbacks on this list each led their respective teams to BCS bowls last season and all...
