Maryland Terrapins Lose Another Signal Caller

The Maryland Terrapins just lost sophomore quarterback Devin Burns who announced his withdrawal from the school and his expectation of transferring to another program.  As of late, the QB position has been suspect for Maryland with the Terrapins losing five signal callers in 2012, four to injuries and one, QB Danny O’Brien, to transfer.  However, in 2013 Maryland will be deep at quarterback with stiff competition.  It is likely Burns’ withdrawal is a result of him presumably not going...

Maryland is in complete disarray

After Maryland stunned the ACC by winning its home opener against a less than 100% Miami Hurricanes squad, the remainder of the season has been a complete downward spiral. Last night Maryland faced Notre Dame in its own backyard at FedEx field losing 45-21. Though it was deemed a home game for the Irish, Maryland’s campus is only a short drive away. However, out of the 70,251 in attendance, the Terps representation was almost nonexistent. The Fighting Irish absolutely...

Maryland is down to two QBs

The Maryland Terrapins have seen some significant changes in the front office with the departure of former head coach Ralph Friedgen and the surprise hiring of Randy Edsall. With new top brass calling the shots, change always follows. During the spring game, Edsall boasted a new look offense and defense with numerous players playing different positions. However, with all this change, comes a reason to worry. Maryland QB Danny O’Brien, ACC Freshman of the Year, is set to take...

Hoopster Cliff Tucker hits the gridiron

After four seasons on the Maryland basketball team, 6’6 senior guard Cliff Tucker officially traded-in his high-tops for football cleats. Much to the delight of QB Danny O’Brien, Cliff Tucker will be showcased as the Terrapins’ new deep threat playing wide receiver. Tucker, who hails from El Paso, Texas, is no stranger to football as he was a well known star amassing 939 receiving yards and 19 TDs during his senior year for Chapin High School. Several Big 12...

Spygate: UConn Edition

If you are wondering why UConn went from preseason Big East contender to the bottom of the basement, think no more. The program recently learned that there is a spy amongst the student body. A displeased Randy Edsall announced that somebody has been spying on the Huskies’s practice. Apparently, some proprietary information from the football team’s recent practice was revealed and made public. There was a depiction of each and every move players made from the dorm room to...

UConn in panic mode

After going 1-2, UConn Coach Randy Edsall is pushing the panic button by deciding to prematurely lift the suspension of two quality back-up players. QB Cody Endres and LG Erik Kiraczea were both reinstated this past weekend after UConn’s abysmal loss to Temple 16-30. The pair were originally suspend back in August for violating unspecified team rules. But seeing how the season is playing out, Coach Edsall will need all of his players if he wants any realistic shot at...

DE Marcus Campbell tears ACL, out for season

UConn defensive end Marcus Campbell is out for the season after tearing his ACL in practice this weekend. This is a major setback for the talented DE who missed the entire 2009 season because of academic reasons. When Campbell first arrived in Storrs, he had a promising ’07-’08 campaign amassing 24 tackles, 2 sacks, and 4.5 tackles for a loss. The end was supposed to anchor the Huskies defense in 2010 as he had a strong spring practice and...
