Prepare for a fall of Johnny Manziel NFL Talk

Reigning Heisman Trophy Award winner Johnny Manziel faces a lot of pressure heading into 2013. Texas A&M has their eyes set on making a National Championship run, and anything short of another Heisman campaign from Manziel would be considered a disappointment. However, a lot of talk surrounding the redshirt sophomore will be his transition from college to the pros. It is widely speculated that, given he has a healthy and productive 2013 season, Manziel will declare for the NFL...

Jarvis Jones, the Nation’s Best Linebacker

Not only is Georgia’s Jarvis Jones the best linebacker in the nation, but he is arguably the best defensive player in the NCAA.  The junior linebacker is an All-American candidate and a finalist for the Bednarik, Lombardi, Nagurski, and Butkus award.  At 6’3, 241 lbs., Jones is a premier game-changer who causes havoc in the backfield.  He leads the nation in forced fumbles (6) and is second in the nation in tackles for loss (19.5). Despite being sidelined for...

Former Heisman Finalist Arrested in Hawaii

Quarterback Colt Brennan would have more luck playing at partybingo.com than he would at living life as he was arrested last week in Kailua, Hawaii for felony drug possession and drunk driving.  The former Hawaii superstar who owns college football’s single season touchdown passing record (58 TDs) was pulled over for driving 10 miles over the speed limit.  This infraction led to him being charged for DUI and for promoting a dangerous drug, a 3rd degree felony.  Brennan was ultimately released from...

The Buck stops here: kicking off campaign for Congressional seat

Former BYU defensive lineman and Washington Redskin alum Jason Buck can “no longer stand by while Barack Obama…destroys the fabric of our government.” With Buck’s strong statements bashing the administration’s lavish spending, the All-American linebacker announced that he will seek the Republican nomination for Utah’s 2nd Congressional District to tackle Obama’s free spending. Buck wants a leaner government that is “pro-family and fiscally sound.” Buck will have to face-off against a litany of fellow conservatives for the GOP nomination....

Colorado’s Rashaan Salaam auctioned Heisman ring

The 1994 Heisman Trophy winner Rashaan Iman Salaam recently sold his Heisman ring for $9,768 according to Nate D. Sanders Auctions.  The ring, which was a size 11.5 behemoth, boasted over 20 diamonds totaling 1.5 carats and was anticipated to garner $15,000 – $25,000.  Unfortunately, the one-of-a kind memorabilia sold for significantly less than the estimated price. Salaam, who is still beloved by Colorado fans, was hoping for a big pay-day. After an outstanding collegiate career followed by a...

Woodall trades gridiron for diamond

Since former Crimson Tide safety Justin Woodall didn’t get drafted or signed by any NFL team in 2010, he is moving on to baseball. The 2 year starter saw the 2010 NFL draft pass him by and the Chicago Bears did not sign him as a free agent when he attended mini-camp. However, during this time, the former high school baseball phenom was being scouted by several major league baseball teams. His athletic ability and reputation from high school...

To be Blount, a Titan?

In 2009, Oregon’s LeGarrette Blount was set to take the stage at running back for the Ducks and was predicted by experts to be a 2nd, or at worst, a 3rd round draft pick in the 2010 NFL draft. Obviously, all that was struck down after Blount sucker punched a Boise State player in the Ducks’ opening game of the 2009 season. Blount was immediately suspended from the team and did not return until late in the season and only on...

The caged bird sings

For the few fans who are still tracking the life of former Ohio State RB Maurice Clarett, today could be a day he will never forget. An Ohio judge will determine his fate later today as a hearing has been scheduled for 1:30 p.m. today in Franklin County Common Pleas Court. Clarett has been a...
