Florida’s Top Gun

When the Florida Gators take the field at Ben Hill Griffin Stadium on September 4th against Miami Ohio, a new quarterback will lead the offense for the first time in three years. Gator legacy John Brantley will finally get his chance to etch his mark in the annals of Gator history. Brantley has one of college football’s toughest job in years, replacing all-everything Gator and college football legend, Tim Tebow. If the past is any indicator of the future, Gator fans...

America’s favorite athlete has just inked a three year deal with Jockey making him the new face of the undergarment company. Tim Tebow will be featured in Jockey commercials, magazine ads, and the company’s catalog. Puff the Magic Gator?

Pierre-Louis estimates about 75 percent of the 2006 team smoked marijuana based on internal talks among players and teammates posting positive tests. Pierre-Louis refused to estimate the current percentage since he says head coach Urban Meyer has significantly reduced the drug use on the team. This should not come as a surprise to anyone that attended any college, perhaps...

NCAA gives a black eye to eye black

NCAA football’s governing body just approved rule changes earlier today that will take effect starting in 2011 to include no eye black messages, no wedge blocking, and no major taunting. We first reported the proposed rule change back in February, but now it’s official. Players wearing eye black will be forbidden to write any messages on their glare blocking accessories. While eye black has always been a part of football, the trend of writing messages on them really took off...

Belichick and Tebow Break Bread

It’s no surprise to college football and NFL followers alike that New England head coach Bill Belichick is a fan of Tim Tebow. Belichick has been a long time friend of Gator head coach Urban Meyer and their relationship goes beyond just the football field. Belichick has spoken very highly about Tebow and even gave him a glowing endorsement at  league meetings last week. “He’s had a great career. There are a lot of positives. I’m sure he’s going...
