UF's Hammond catches DUI charge this morning in Gainesville, FL

Florida wide receiver Frankie Hammond ran the WR jet streak a little too well early this morning in Gainesville, Fl. The 20 year old sophomore from Hollywood, Fl, was arrested at 2:09am and was apprehended and taken to the Alachua County jail. Gainesville’s finest pulled Hammond over after he was observed going 45 mph in a 20 mph zone, and was driving uncontrollably on  UF campus streets. Upon pulling Hammond over, police discovered two opened bottles of wiskey in the vehicle. The authorities conducted sobriety tests in which Hammond blew 0.188 and 0.191, the legal limit in the state of Florida is 0.08.

Hammond has been suspended from all team activities until his legal matters are resolved.  The Gators are expecting big things from Hammond and the rest of the UF receiving corp this upcoming season as Tim Tebow’s departure clears the path for the more polished passer John Brantley.
