We will have to wait another day until we learn the fate of Bobby Bowden. The ACCs winningest football coach will announce his intentions tomorrow on whether or not he will return to Florida State. Florida State will cover

It’s week 8 and The Matador is 4-3 on his weekly picks. Last weekend, Penn State was a huge victor over the slumping Wolverines. This week’s lock should provide the same financial reward. Florida State (-7.0) will cover easily over NC State. The Wolfpack (3-4) have lost their last two games to Duke and BC by an average of 26.5 points. Meanwhile, the ‘Noles have the #1 offense in the ACC and Ponder is putting up Heisman type numbers...

Harris is out with a cervical burn

Florida State’s sophomore LB Maurice Harris is ruled out for the remainder of the season. Harris suffered a cervical burn in last week’s game against Georgia Tech and his MRI confirmed the inevitable. The 6’0 200 pound stud was the fifth leading tackler (15 tackles) on the team and played an integral role on special teams. This is a big loss for the Seminoles as their defense is already suspect. Bowden may have to shuffle some personnel to fill...

It’s time to pass the torch

Florida State is 0-2 in the ACC for the first time ever and now all eyes are on Coach Bobby Bowden. The most notable is Jim Smith, the chair of the university’s Board of Trustees. Smith spoke out openly saying its time for the Bowden Era to end.  “My hope is frankly that we’ll go ahead, and if we have to, let the world know that this year will be the end of the Bowden Era,” said Smith, who has...

More Injuries for Miami

The Miami Hurricanes are entering tomorrow night’s showdown against Florida State with more injuries than a M*A*S*H episode. The ‘Canes will play Florida State tomorrow night down two defensive players. Defensive back Ryan Hill, and safety Vaughn Telemaque, were injured on Saturday during the last Miami practice before their season opener. The extent of the injuries are unknown, as Miami has only confirmed that the two suffered injuries to their “upper extremities”. Senior Ryan Hill played in 13 games for...
