The 1994 Heisman Trophy winner Rashaan Iman Salaam recently sold his Heisman ring for $9,768 according to Nate D. Sanders Auctions.  The ring, which was a size 11.5 behemoth, boasted over 20 diamonds totaling 1.5 carats and was anticipated to garner $15,000 – $25,000.  Unfortunately, the one-of-a kind memorabilia sold for significantly less than the estimated price. Colorado alum and former Carolina Panther WR Ray Carruth will not get a reversal in his conspiracy to commit murder conviction. Carruth appealed his conviction to the 4th Circuit pleading certain statements made to paramedics and certain hospital notes should not have been admitted into evidence during his criminal trial because the victim, Cherica Adams, who was in a comma, was unavailable to be cross-examined. The entire state of Colorado is reporting that Dan Hawkins will be relieved of his coaching duties later today. Hawkins sealed his fate last Saturday after he blew a 45-17 fourth quarter lead to Kansas with twelve minutes remaining in the game (lost 52-45).
