WR Kyle Halderman out for 2 months

Coach Troy Calhoun announced that junior WR Kyle Halderman(Jr. 5’11, 175 lbs.) will be out for at least two months after suffering from a broken collarbone. He is anticipated to be back playing with the team in October. This hurts Air Force as Halderman was the go to “Z” receiver. The “Z” receiver is basically a wide receiver who lines up in the backfield outside of another receiver. Air Force is thin at this position and may have to count...

RB Ivory Dismissed from Team

It looks like its getting a little worse for Washington State and Coach Paul Wulff. The Seattle Times is reporting senior RB and Texas native Chris Ivory has been kicked off the team for violating team rules–missing too many practices. Ivory has amassed a paltry 534 rushing yards in 3 seasons with the Cougars. He is buried deep in the depth chart behind the likes of RB Dwight Tardy and RB James Montgomery. The Cougars did not see much of Ivory...

Dwyer does not practice

The Georgia Tech camp reported that RB and All-ACC player Jonathan Dwyer (Jr. 6’0, 235 lbs.) did not practice yesterday. He is apparently recovering from a hip flexor injury. The team is reporting the injury is not serious. Let’s hope this is true as the Yellow Jackets are not deep with experienced RBs. Freshman Richard Watson (Fr. 6’1, 22 lbs.) is slated to back-up Dwyer if he does not play.

Ex-Lion becomes Scarlet Knight

It’s official. Ex-Penn State Nittany Lion recruit Darrell Givens (Fr. 6’1, 180 lbs.) was cleared and is academically eligible to enroll and play for Rutgers. Rutgers initially offered Givens a scholarship, but he elected to play for the Nittany Lions. Since he had academic issues, he was released by the Lions. Rutgers is getting a star CB in Givens, who hails from Indian Head, Maryland and was ranked #11 by scout.com. Givens should be suited up and ready for...

Ford Recovers, is 100%

At on point, true freshman Elton Ford (So. 6’0, 208 lbs.) ranked second on the Arkansas Razorbacks with 42 tackles last season. He played so well in the beginning of the season that he got the nod to start at free safety as a true freshman. Unfortunately, he took a devastating hit during the Ole Miss game. The collision with Ole Miss’ Mike Wallace caused Ford to break three vertebrae in his neck. At the time, no one was sure if...

Drug deal goes up in Flames

Early The Matador reported WR Justin Feagin was kicked off the Wolverines for violating team rules. We have now learned that the violation stems from a cocaine deal gone bad. Basically, Feagin was going to arrange for a shipment of cocaine to be sent to fellow student T.J. Burke for $600.00. Burke paid the money to Feagin, but the shipment of cocaine never arrived and Feagin refused to return the money. As time passed, Burke got upset. One drunken night,...

LB Moeller Undergoes Brain Surgery, May Not Play

Ohio State’s Tyler Moeller (Jr. 6’0, 216 lbs) was projected to start at linebacker with Storm Klein (Fr. 6’3, 225 lbs.) backing him up. However, Moeller may not see much playing time this season as he underwent brain surgery over the weekend. The surgery was successful and he is currently listed in fair condition. The exact injury has not been disclosed, but Moeller did hit his head on the ground during a family trip this past summer. Although, there are...

“Free Shoes University” should keep wins

Steve Spurrier once referred to Florida State University (FSU) as “Free Shoes University” during the alleged 1993/1994 Foot Locker scandal that hampered Bobby Bowden and FSU. Now as Spurrier grows wiser, he is jumping on the bandwagon and supporting Bowden’s petition to not lose any victories for the most recent test cheating scandal at FSU. Spurrier furthered his support by backing the FSU track team saying the team shouldn’t lose its NCAA championship title for the same scandal. Since the...
