Minor wont see Major Playing Time on Saturday

As fate would have it, Michigan’s Rich Rodriguez may have one more problem to deal with. Starting RB Brandon Minor is questionable for Saturday’s game against Western Michigan. It appears Minor is suffering from a nagging ankle injury. The team is limiting his practice duties and he will be re-evaluated before Saturday’s kick-off. If he doesn’t play or has limited playing time, this would hurt the Wolverines offense as Minor lead the Wolverines with 533 yards rushing last season and was poised to...

DE Geathers to Serve One Game Suspension

Early, The Matador reported that DE Clifton Geathers was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct, resisting arrest, and public drunkeness. At the time, Steve Spurrier suspended Geathers indefinitely; however, Spurrier eased up on his harsh reaction and will only suspend the star DE for one game. Since Geathers is still recovering from a facial broken bone from the incident with the bouncer, he is not medically cleared to play. Once he is cleared, he will serve his one game suspension.

Rich Rod does it again

As the old saying goes, the hits just keep on coming. Rich Rodriguez was just hit with a $3.9 million dollar lawsuit. Nexity Bank filed a complaint against Rodriguez and his partners for a high end development project in Blacksburg, Virginia gone bad in the U.S. District Court for South Carolina (7:09-2142-HFF). Weeding out the legal jargon, Nexity is seeking damages for a default on a promissory note that funded the real-estate project. Rodriguez is one of the guarantors and is obligated to...

The SWAC Pays Tribute to #9

In a sign of sportsmanship and respect, all 10 Southern Western Athletic Conference (SWAC) football teams will wear a #9 sticker on their helmets to commemorate Steve McNair. McNair’s performance while playing for Alcorn State significantly boosted the image of Alcorn State and the SWAC. Not too many people outside of Lorman, Mississippi heard of the Braves until McNair took the reigns and landed 3rd overall in the 60th Heisman Trophy race (behind Rashaan Salaan and Ki-Jana Carter) and was drafted #3 by the Oilers...
