Let’s Go Moe

South Carolina gave Alabama a run for its money on Saturday. Unfortunately, they came up short and lost 20-6 at Bryant-Denny Stadium. Not only did Spurrier lose a chance to upset the #2 team in the nation, but now he will be without senior captain and star receiver Moe Brown. During the Gamecock’s losing efforts, Brown suffered a game ending concussion. He was hit by two defenders after making an 8 yard grab in the first half. The hit...

Danny Sullivan is the bomb

For my east coast brethren, if you missed the Arizona State v. Washington game, you missed an exciting ending. Danny Sullivan launched a 50 yard cannon with 13 seconds left to play. It was the 4th quarter and the score was knotted at 17-17. Arizona State had the ball on the 50 yard line and everyone including Washington figured the game would go to overtime, but Sullivan thought otherwise. Watch the video and check out Washington’s secondary, they were...

Bradford, Sooners go down

The Cotton Bowl was in silence as fans watched Sam Bradford go down for presumably his last time as a college football player. Bradford reinjured his right throwing shoulder in just the second series of the game. Even though he said he was playing pain free against Baylor last week, was Bradford thrown onto the filed prematurely? It makes one wonder, because after Bradford went down against BYU there was talk about season-ending surgery. The question remains, what will...

Michigan wins, Delaware State gets paid

I’m not sure what’s worse—demoralizing a 1AA opponent by gaining 727 total yards of offense or letting a team demoralize you for $550,000. Earlier today, the Michigan Wolverines poured on the beating against Div 1AA Delaware State. Within what seemed like minutes, Michigan was up by three scores. By the end of the game, the final score read 63-6. Michigan broke a school record with 442 total yards of offense in the first half. The 727 total yards from...

Arizona State shall rise over Washington

The Matador has taken his followers on a wild and bumpy ride going 2-3 in his weekly picks. This week’s lock should get you back some of that lost hard earned money. If you don’t  have faith, you will lose out. Remember folks, gambling is measured by duration. You aren’t going to win everything on one game. I promise you, stick with me until season’s end. You will not be disappointed. This week’s lock is a keeper. Arizona State(-6.5)...

South Carolina’s run game weakens

South Carolina has a daunting challenge this Saturday as they travel down to Tuscaloosa to face the #2 Crimson Tide. This challenge just got a little tougher as the university just confirmed that RB Jarvis Giles is suspended for the Alabama game. Per the norm, the suspension is for an undisclosed violation of team rules. It remains to be seen the duration of Giles’ suspension. Giles will certainly be missed as he is an integral part of the offense...

Pike out, Collaros in

QB Tony Pike has sprained his left wrist during tonight’s game against South Florida. The injury occurred after a first half hit on Pike. He tried to return, but ultimately left  the game in the 3rd quarter. Pike has had left arm problems before as he broke his forearm last season and played with a plate and screws holding everything in place. Pike’s replacement Zach Collaros is filling in just fine and is providing a spark as the Bearcats...
