Layla Denies SI Rumors

Amidst all the internet rumors, it has been verified that as of now, Layla Kiffin will not be posing for the famed SI Swimsuit edition. There was a lot a buzz on the internet pointing to the contrary, but Layla did confirm she is not posing and has not even been approached by SI. It’s a shame because Layla would have made a nice cover girl and it’s clear her fan base wants to see what Layla has to...

If the Spartans lose, it’s like they win

If there is ever a scenario where losing is the best bet, well here it is. This weekend, San Jose State faces conference rival Boise State. Of course all the San Jose State fans and the rest of the college football world want to see the Spartans upset the Broncos, but I’m not so sure the Spartans’ AD wants that. If San Jose upsets the Broncos, it is an absolute certainty Boise State will not go to a BCS...

Florida State will cover

It’s week 8 and The Matador is 4-3 on his weekly picks. Last weekend, Penn State was a huge victor over the slumping Wolverines. This week’s lock should provide the same financial reward. Florida State (-7.0) will cover easily over NC State. The Wolfpack (3-4) have lost their last two games to Duke and BC by an average of 26.5 points. Meanwhile, the ‘Noles have the #1 offense in the ACC and Ponder is putting up Heisman type numbers...

Haden temporary, tattoo permanent

Before you ever consider getting a tat, The Matador urges you to really think twice before you get this everlasting artwork. It is unfortunate that Boston College’s RB sophomore Josh Haden didn’t live by my words of wisdom. Haden was a highly touted recruit from Fort Washington, MD (if you recognize his name, it’s because his brother Joe Haden is a star CB at top-ranked Florida). After a long drawn out recruitment process, he selected BC and showed off his...

Sparty folds a pair of RBs

The backfield is slowly dissipating over in East Lansing, Michigan. Yesterday, RBs Andre Anderson and Caulton Ray were surprisingly not listed on Michigan State’s active roster list. When contacting the team about the duo, associate AD John Lewandowski confirmed that the two backs are no longer with the team, but would not elaborate on any specifics. This is a big hit for the Spartans as Ray started the season at RB and thus far amassed 156 yards  and 1 TD in 40 carries.  Anderson...

Rodriguez dumps Cissoko

Not a lot of details are out yet, but the University of Michigan has just announced that DB Boubacar Cissoko has been kicked-off the team. Cissoko is no stranger to serving suspensions as he just got off a two game suspension prior to the Penn State game. Coach Rodriguez stated his playing days are finished as a result of violating team rules. The news around the locker room was Cissoko got the boot because the team and coaches were frustrated with his...

Iowa’s star RB is out

Fans are still celebrating the Hawkeyes success in Iowa City with their last second win over Michigan State. Iowa continues to shock the college football world with their game ending heroics vaulting the team to uncharted waters. Now that Iowa is 8-0 for their first time in college football history, they will have to continue their magical run without the services of starting RB Adam Robinson. Robinson is out for the remainder of the regular season after suffering an...
