VaTech’s secondary gets a little weaker

Virginia Tech is in the Christmas spirit by giving Tennessee a weaker secondary for the Chick-fil-A-Bowl. The school announced that starting cornerback Stephan Virgil will be sidelined for the bowl game. Unfortunately, his grades were not up to par so he was declared academically ineligible for any post season play. What makes matters worse for Virgil, he is a senior so his collegiate career is now officially over. In place of Virgil, sophomore Eddie Whitley will get the starting nod.

Brian Kelly’s presence is already making an impact on Notre Dame fans and recruits. Kelly just nabbed DB Austin Collinsworth from Fort Thomas, KY. The 6’o 180 pound safety, whose HS team just won the Class 5-A football championship, selected the Fighting Irish over Cincinnati, Harvard, Kentucky, Louisville, Oregon, Stanford and Vanderbilt.
