It’s Friday and the Northeast is getting blanketed by snow and gale force winds. So to all my faithfuls in NYC who trekked into work this morning, today’s links are especially for you. First off, you can rest easy. Former Georgia Bulldog great Knowshon Moreno is cleared from charges for allegedley sucker punching an 18 year old this past Saturday night at the Bourbon Street bar in Athens, Georgia. In the purest form of patriotism, bravery, and unselfishness, Oregon State’s LB David Pa’aluhi is trading...
QB Ryan Mallett’s road to gridiron fame just hit another bump. This time, a broken bone in his left foot is sidelining the gunslinger during spring practice. As a top prospect in 2007, Mallett was supposed to shine for Michigan’s Lloyd Carr and did show signs of greatness while backing up then future NFLer Chad Henne. However, after Carr retired and Rich Rodriguez stepped in and introduced his spread offense to the maize and blue, Mallett quickly left the...
Rich Rod’s tenure at Michigan has been anything but fabulous. He is certainly on the brink with the fans and boosters and improving his record is paramount as he heads into spring practice. With all the pressure to win, is it possible Rich Rod is sacrificing his players’ health for the betterment of his record? This was evident last season with quarterback Tate Forcier. In the first part of the season, Forcier was superb throwing 7 TDs against 2...
As Rich Rodriguez kicked off the 2009 season, all signs were pointing to the Wolverines climbing back to the promised land of elite status. However, after midway through the season, the Wolverines did a 180 and headed straight down for a crash landing and the fans are getting frustrated. In two seasons, RichRod has amassed an 8-15 (3-12 in the Big Ten) record. This is unacceptable for a program with such prestige, but don’t fret fans, RichRod is here...
Michigan QB Tate Forcier’s status for Saturday’s game has been in question since sustaining a mild concussion against Iowa. Forcier has been undergoing tests in Ann Arbor with the hopes of being able to play this weekend. The freshman did not practice on Monday after complaining of headaches, but he did do some running during Tuesday’s practice. UM coach Rich Rodriguez said that Foricer will be able to play if he makes Wednesday’s practice. If Forcier’s not ready to go,...
Tate Forcier’s heroic efforts in Saturday’s comeback win against Indiana provided much needed relief to a Wolverine team clawing its way back to the promised land. Unfortunately, during the win, Forcier appeared to have injured his right shoulder after taking a days worth of beatings. During the 4th quarter, he was in obvious pain when throwing the ball and he was constantly favoring his shoulder. It also did not help that his teammates incidentally were making it worse. Coach Rodriguez is limiting Forcier this week in...
As the old saying goes, the hits just keep on coming. Rich Rodriguez was just hit with a $3.9 million dollar lawsuit. Nexity Bank filed a complaint against Rodriguez and his partners for a high end development project in Blacksburg, Virginia gone bad in the U.S. District Court for South Carolina (7:09-2142-HFF). Weeding out the legal jargon, Nexity is seeking damages for a default on a promissory note that funded the real-estate project. Rodriguez is one of the guarantors and is obligated to...
