FedEx announced today that it was ending it’s twenty-one year long sponsorship of the Orange Bowl. FedEx executives decided that it was not in the company’s best financial interest to continue sponsoring the bowl game. The change of heart from FedEx stems from the result of ESPN taking over broadcasting rights of BCS games from FOX Broadcasting Company beginning in 2011. Purdue’s Danny Hope was given a one-year contract extension that will keep him in West Lafayette through 2014. Hope was named Purdue’s head coach last summer when Joe Tiller decided to retire. Bolden tears ACL

Purdue’s Ralph Bolden suffered an ACL tear in his right knee according to team officials and will undergo surgery to repair the damage. Bolden first suffered the injury during Purdue’s March 31st practice, but the team didn’t announce the severity of the injury until yesterday.
