Purdue's Bolden suffers ACL, 2010 return questionable

Purdue’s Ralph Bolden suffered an ACL tear in his right knee according to team officials and will undergo surgery to repair the damage. Bolden first suffered the injury during Purdue’s March 31st practice, but the team didn’t announce the severity of the injury until yesterday.

As of now, a timetable  for Bolden’s return to the field is unknown. “Could be ready by the season but we’ll have to wait and see,” coach Danny Hope said. “It’s one of those things that will be right down to the wire.” Bolden tore the same ACL when he was in high school as well. There’s not much cause for optimism in West Lafayette as Bolden is Purdue’s starting running back and accounted for 11 rushing touchdowns last season. Purdue will need him on the field next season if they are to make a realistic run at the Big 10 title.
