Purdue extends Hope's contract

Purdue’s Danny Hope was given a one-year contract extension that will keep him in West Lafayette through 2014. Hope was named Purdue’s head coach last summer when Joe Tiller decided to retire. Even though Hope went 5-7 in his first season as head coach, the Boilermaker community is optimistic about his future. Purdue’s athletic director Morgan Burke gave Hope a ringing endorsement: “Beginning with the day he returned to Purdue, Danny has followed a master plan for our football program that focuses on our core values of success on the field, in the classroom and in the community,” Burke said in a statement. “The results in his first year as head coach were encouraging, and we are confident that great days are ahead.”
