We all know everything is bigger and better in Texas and it’s easy to forget that big mouths also come from the South. Texas’ star recruit, Taylor Bible who is still in high school and is actually known to be more of the quiet type, vowed that the Longhorns will win the next four Red River Shootouts and four BCS Titles.
That is quite a big prediction for the 6’3 278 pound defensive lineman who plans on enrolling this June and is not even guaranteed a starting spot. Although the coaches told him he would start, he still has to earn it. It’s all too common for coaches to sway recruits with promises of starting.
At this point, Bible’s praises all but fired up Oklahoma and Texas’ other Big XII foes. This could end up backfiring on Bible and his team. Suffice to say, coaches should do a better job in ensuring players just keep quiet about predictions, especially high school seniors who aren’t even on the team.
